The Inflection Point
Karen Froio’s life changed forever in 2010. A decade into her thriving career in biotech talent acquisition she was diagnosed with cancer. Her three-year journey through this process which included surgery, chemotherapy, and other medical treatments, and a re-diagnosis in 2013, forever changed her perspective on the industry she served professionally.
Upon making a full recovery in Froio vowed to dedicate her professional life to bring effective therapies to people living with some of the world’s most challenging diseases. So in 2013, she launched T-Rex to infuse the field with the best talent. Since then she has been a driving force behind advancing the biopharma rare disease space by connecting the highest performers in the industry with companies dedicated to finding cures.
What’s In a Name?
When Froio founded T-Rex, she knew the company needed a powerful name to convey the tenacity her team would employ to recruit the best talent in the industry. Froio turned to her then six year old son as Chief Naming Officer and in short order, T-Rex was born. Later Froio’s brother, Glen, an executive with over 12 years of talent acquisition experience, joined the team, making T-Rex a family-led firm serving industry leading clients and top-performing professionals.

Karen Froio, President
Karen Froio founded T-Rex BioPharm in 2013 with the goal of creating long-lasting partnerships between biopharmaceutical firms and the top-performing leaders in the field. As president, she has built a team of recruiters who are among the most reputable and hard-working national recruiters in the industry. With an MS in Exercise Physiology from the University of Miami, Froio began her career as a medical/pharmaceutical sales representative in 1995 and has since become a leader in the medical/biotech sales recruiting industry ever since. She resides just outside of Boston, MA with her son and dog.
Glen Froio, Managing Partner
Glen Froio is a Partner with T-Rex Medical. Glen establishes and services T-Rex Medical client relationships, manages industry partnerships, and leads strategic business planning. Froio graduated from Syracuse University and began his career in the talent acquisition industry over 15 years ago. He has also served in executive leadership and CEO roles in his career and resides just outside of Boston, MA with his wife and two daughters and rescue pooch, Noki.
